Our team includes a professional designer and a practicing licensed professional engineer with an average of more than 30 years experience in fire protection.

Fire Protection System Design
We design fire protection systems for commercial, industrial, institutional, and residential facilities. These systems include automatic sprinklers (control-mode, ESFR, Extra Large Orifice, in-rack sprinklers, deluge, preaction, dry systems, etc.), fire pumps, fire hydrants, standpipe systems, etc. Our design experience includes both new construction and retrofit systems for existing buildings. Our detailed drawings are produced with CAD and they provide a completely coordinated system layout that will avoid conflict with other trades.

We have extensive experience with performing hydraulic calculations and use a recognized a hydraulic calculation software package to optimize the piping dimensions and system layout to reduce the overall cost of the system.

We normally provide a design within two weeks of having all the necessary information but can work with a shorter turn-around on rush jobs.

Fire Protection System Design Review
We provide design reviews for automatic sprinkler systems and other fire protection elements. These design reviews are comprehensive reviews of the applicable standards to identify any deficiencies that would prevent approval by the Authority Having Jurisdiction. Appropriate changes are discussed and implemented.

Specifications for Fire Protection Systems
We develop detailed specifications for fire protection systems to help the building owner or his representative obtain appropriate bids from qualified contractors. We can prepare both performance-based specifications and traditional design specifications in accordance with the Construction Specifications Institute. We can also identify contractor qualifications, testing requirements, and acceptance criteria.

Consulting Services
We are available for consultation with respect to complex fire protection issues, including:

• The design, installation, testing and maintenance of manual and automatic fire suppression systems, equipment and devices, including sprinkler systems, standpipe and hose systems, dry chemical systems, foam systems, C02 systems, clean agents and halon replacement systems, and fire extinguishers.

• The design of water supplies for fire protection, the pressure and flow at which they are to be delivered and the proper sizing, arrangement, installation, testing and maintenance of piping, valves, hydrants, reservoirs, tanks, pumps and their related controls.
